We were excited to obtain the genetics of Uribe (Durazno) in Diamond Man to add to our breeding program and Wild Rose and New Horizons Suri Alpacas. Diamond Man is now owned by Marie Brown of New Horizons and stands stud at the Wild Rose Suri Ranch where he is boarded.
He is the son of the late PPeruvian Uribe G4559, and winner of the prestigious "Get of Sire Winner" at the 1997 AOBA National Conference. Uribe is unique as a medium fawn full Accoyo, and his bloodlines have been the foundation for colored full Accoyos in the US. He has produced 138 crias, ALL SURI, and represents the homozygous suri. Diamond Man's dam is the gorgeous 4Peruvian Sequin 6886 owned by Nola Graham of NGG Alpacas and is one of her best foundation dams, producing top herd sires NGG Accoyo Great White Hope and NGG Accoyo Sterling by Sequin (1/2 brothers to Diamond Man).
Diamond Man has a beautiful fleece, and at the age of 10 he sheared a 4.2 lb. blanket and over 10 lbs total weight with 12 months growth. He is locked all the way down his legs, has nice luster, and exhibits great density. This is a fiber producer!
Diamond Man has many breeding years ahead of him and he is sure to establish himself as one of the nation's finest. He currently has 7 crias on the ground, all white out of white dams, as he was used infrequently at the small farms where he was resident. He was bred to 6-7 dark females for 2008 crias and we are excited to report that he can pass Uribe's color when bred to colored dams, producing color when bred to dark and fawn dams. Diamond Man is available for mobile breedings and resident breedings here at the farm. Live cria birth guarantees, 60 days board for the dam (crias extra @$3.00 per day), and ultrasound confirmation included for resident breeding. Mobile breeding includes bringing the male to your farm within a 120 mile radius of 21078 for a maximum of 2 breedings. Additional trips incur a mileage charge of $1.00 per mile traveled. Mobile breedings can also be done at our farm where you bring the female to Wild Rose Suri Ranch for breeding and receive a $250 discount off the breeding fee.
